Wooden Barrel Maintenance

So I have a wood barrel that has a leak in the side of it. Does anyone know where to get small pieces of wood to try and plug the hole?

Btw it is a 55 gallon barrel if that matters.

It is more of a gap than a hole. It is not easily visible. It is where the staves meet the lid

If the barrel has gone dry it will likely have gaps. Soaking it in water should seal it up.
