Hello everyone on HBT

My name is Tim and i just got into brewing and I love it. I started my first brew on friday. It is an Irish Stout from Brewers Best and I am having some trouble with it because Saturday the lid exploded off and now today there are no bubbles in the air lock. I took a hydrometer reading before putting the lid back on and it was at 1.030. The temp is staying right at 70 degrees so I dont understand why its not bubbling anymore =[

First, welcome to the forum and the hobby.

Second, relax.

It's very common for buckets to have a seal that isn't the greatest and the CO2 gets out somewhere else.

Just sit back and be patient. Fermentation is a natural process. The yeast will do their job at their own pace, and there isn't much you can do but wait.
