I am currently in the process of turning a side by side fridge into a kegerator/ferm chamber. I have read that I should be using 12 gauge wire but as I have some extra 16 gauge sitting around I was curious if anyone knew if I could just use that instead? I don't want to short out either the fridge or the stc-1000 that I have so just wanted to make sure before moving forward.

How many amps will the fridge use? Is your 16 gauge wire rated for more than that? When it comes to refrigerators, FIRE is not your friend!

Im starting a similar project this weekend.
Rhoffmann79, what sort of fridge are you using?
