Hey guys,

I want to get a recipe for a lager to drink in the Winter. I know this is a broad question. I guess I'm looking for a lager that has body, flavor, and some alcohol. Maybe even some spice additions or honey. I'm open to all suggestions. I want to get this started in early September so I can lager is for a couple months.

Thanks in advance.:fro:

Samuel Adams Winter Lager is a dark wheat bock. Bock beers are traditionally strong dark lagers. This beer is a lager, and hence not a Weizenbock (an ale)

Google a clone. Never thought of a Weizen Lager. Might have to buy a bottle this winter to taste.

A doppelbock or a baltic porter are great winter beers; they arent spiced. Spaten optimator/Ayinger celebrator are widely available commercially for doppelbocks, and zyweic poter/black boss/alderis porteris can be found often at a bottle shop for baltic porter, id try one of those and see if thats what you want? I definitely brew both for the winter. Helps warm up on rainy January days.
