Will this affect the hot break in any way?

In the process of fly sparging, so I have time to ask this question...

I use an 8 gallon kettle for brewing. Inevitably, my hot break causes a spill over and a nasty mess. Would there be any harm in boiling for 45 minutes and then adding an additional gallon of wort then continuing for the next 45 minutes? Will there be another hot break?
