I am trying my first attempt at harvesting wild yeast. My neighbor has bees with access to apples, pears, wildflowers and large stands of russian sage. Has anyone else ever tried to harvest like this? I am hoping to gather cleaner yeast, however, I have also streaked a plate with one of the bees, just in case.

Seems like the hard way but to each his own.

You need to collect single colonies from agar plates if you want a single strain, otherwise it'll be a mixed culture (multiple bacteria and yeast)

Keep us updated!

I have streaked a plate with a dead bee, I will probably streak a plate with this, I am just thinking I might be able to isolate more yeasts by having a bigger sample this way and hopefully reduce chances of mold. I'm new at this so as long as I am having fun I guess
