I've been looking for a good clone for awhile, but everyone that I've found seems to just be taking a shot in the dark at the style. I've yet to find one that uses the ingredients that Widmer stated that they used, so I decided to try making my own using Beer Calculus at Hopville.com. Widmer Brother's Spiced IPA is a West Coast style American IPA. Widmer has stated that they used these ingredients:

Malts: Pale, White Wheat, Caramel 40, and Carapils

Hops: Alchemy, Millenium, Falconer, Zeus, Galaxy and Teamaker

Additions: malty assam black tea, ginger, cinnamon, clove, star anise, black pepper, and cardamom

Profile:
Original Gravity: 16
Apparent Extract: 2.5
IBU: 70
Alcohol by Volume: 7%
Color: 10
Plato:16

Now that I have an idea of what Widmer actually uses and some of the parameters, this is what I came up with for a 10 gal batch.

Malts:
10lb American Two-Row Pale - 1L
4lb Rahr White Wheat Malt - 5L
4lb Caramel/Crystal - 40L
3lb Briess Carapils - 1L

Hops:
0.300oz Teamaker (Boil 60min)
0.400oz Warrior (Boil 60min)
0.500oz Millennium (Boil 60min)
0.500oz Galaxy (Boil 60min)
0.625oz Zeus (Boil 60min)
0.700oz Falconer's Flight (Boil 60min)

Yeast:
BRY-97 American West Coast

Other Ingredients:
4oz Malty Assam Black Tea (Boil 5min)
1oz Ginger Root (Boil 60min)
1ea Cinnamon Stick (Boil 60min)
6ea Whole Cloves (Boil 60min)
2ea Whole Star Anise (Boil 60min)
20ea Whole Black Pepper (Boil 60min)
1ea Whole Green Cardamom (Boil 60min)

Estimated Profile:
OG: 1.056
FG: 1.013
Plato:13.8
Color: 11
IBU: 69.9
ABV: 5.7%

Notes: Alchemy is a proprietary blend of hops mostly made of Warrior and Millennium so I just used those two.

I'm very new to Home-brewing so any feedback is appreciated. What do you think? What can I do to get closer to my target numbers? Am I so off that I should just start over?!
