I am brewing a Vienna lager style beer for some friends. I can ferment around 65F maybe a little lower. Which yeast would give me a more true lager taste the Kolsch yeast which is an ale yeast or the San Fran lager yeast that is a high temp lager yeast?

Go kolsch. San Francisco lager is great for cal common and little else in my opinion.

I like San Francisco lager in lighter colored beers. I have a blonde planned for this weekend and a vienna smash in a few weeks. I like it over the kolsch yeast as it flocculates betters and faster, and also seems to leave a little more body.

If you dont plan on filtering or fining and want a quicker clearer beer go with the sf lager.
