Where to get info for New items in BeerSmith?

So I was using BeerSmith over the weekend and I wanted to add information on a Pilsen Extra Light DME so I googled and obtained a spec sheet for the product, but it contained limited information.

When entering new products, does BeerSmith use a standard template with default numbers? How do you accuretly obtain the proper numbers to use new items? And if you add an item and do not change the numbers in the template, what good is it?

I like the software, I just need to know how to add new items. Any help would be appreciated.

If you click on "grains and extracts" in the left hand panel it will bring up a new grain or extract button above the panel, then you can add all information manually.


Also on the very top of the page, there's an Insert button, click on that, and you can add ingredients from there.

I found the information I needed on BeerSmith's Forum and have copied the "Briess" information onto my computer for future reference.
