What side does the silicon washer go?

I picked up the More Beer Deluxe kit and it came with a spigot for the Fermonster. My issue is that it only came with one flat silicone washer. Since no directions came with it, I don't know what side to put the washer on.

So do I put the washer on the inside or the outside of the fermonster? This is a FLAT washer, not the beveled one I keep reading about online.

Oh, one other thing. The but on the back is more like a screw on cap with a 1/2 moon opening. Should the opening be on the bottom or the top?

Put it on the outside

Regarding the screw on thingy, the "open half" should be on the upside... the top

This sounds a lot like a fermenter I know. Here is the manual for a starter brewery set that uses what I believe to be the same thing; the manual includes detailed instructions on how to mount and use it.
