What does brewing software do for you?

Im a new brewer and was just wondering what the brewing software out there does that brewers friend or other sites can"t??

I use Brewers Friend I tried a couple of other , but I found that is the one that works for me

I have to say the beersmith purchase was worth it for me. You essentially dial in your own numbers, equipment profiles, and mash profiles and it can give you incredibly accurate brewing information. I also enjoy using the cloud, mobile app on my tablet for brew day, the inventory function, and the calendar function.
