Yesterday I went down to Detroit's 170 year old outdoor farmer's market and picked up a case of pickling cukes (for IPA pickles) some 1 day old asparagus and and an expensive bag of morel mushrooms, then MustangJ came over and finally found the leak in my keezer. Then I pretty much just cooked all day, drank beer and watched the Detroit Red Wings get spanked by Chicago.
Did church today, then came back and fired up my ghetto sous vide to bring some frozen pork belly confit back to serving. I'm taking it over to a party in a bit. There's a group of us who re-connected from out college radio station in the 80's who get together often, and one of our gang came into town for a wedding, so that warranted an informal party. I'm bringing over the pork belly confit, some IPA pickles and a growler of IPA...and hoping to seduce my old college fiance.....
I was hoping some of the local HBTers would throw together a group brew for tomorrow, but it doesn't seem like anyone's in town, so I guess I'm going to make a ton of IPA pickles and asparagus, and maybe do a stovetop brew of the pomegranate with I planned to brew.
