Weird separation. Any thoughts?

This has been cold crashed for about three months ( I got busy, ok?). I take it out today to transfer to a keg and see this. Very dark top layer, fading into a lighter shade. The trub layer on bottom is obviously separate from the beer. Any thoughts? This is a cream ale. It blew up on me in the ferm chamber and I managed to salvage this much (3gallons maybe) of a 5 gallon batch. Anybody experienced this before?

Fixed the attachment. This actually got better as the beer warmed on the counter, but there was still a noticeable difference between the top and bottom. I figure it was just suspended particles....I didn't use whirlfloc or fine with gelatin during the cold crash. I'm sure its no big deal.
