Weird looking starter ?

expired pack of wlp090. No krausen in starter and a Weird layer on top of the yeast? Anyone seen this before? (Might be hard to see in these pictures). Dont know if I dare to use it ?

How long has it been going? How long expired?
Many times I see not much activity but I would think you'd see more of a 'milky' look to it after 12-24 hours.

48 hours. Did not see any foam or krausen at all... Been in the refrigerator for six days now :/ ... There is yeast on the bottom

Based on the pictures it looks normal to me.

Give it an extra day or two. I have had similar non action that all of a sudden burst with activity.

Reminds me of a quote from a British sit com, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin...
