I have multiple water cooler jugs and was curious if I could use them as a possible Carboy. Thoughts?

I might use them as a primary. I rarely do a secondary. If it is not going to be a long secondary I might try it. Not knowing the gas permeability of the plastic I would not do a long term secondary. I have a couple 3 gallon ones that I do small batches in, primary only.

Most plastic water jugs I have seen have a recycle code of 7 which you do not want to use, some newer ones have a code 1 on them so I think that they would be fine to use, haven't done it yet but it has crossed my mind.:mug:

It seems too good to be true but I figured I might as well ask, I'll look into it more
