I'm new to washing yeast, and I have a question:
I've read a few places that you don't want to reuse yeast on a beer with a lower OG. Why? I have a black IPA about to be bottled, and I wanted either pitch onto the cake of Wyeast 1272, or wash the yeast and use it later for a Hazed and Infused clone. My bIPA was an OG of 1.076, the hazed will be est OG 1.053.
If I ignored the caution, what would be the problems associated with reusing the yeast?
