I was binge watching some old beer commercials the other day and I started paying attention to the taps.
I would say 95% of them were your standard "Perlick Style" rear sealers. There was another type I saw a few times.
This style showed up in a few Schlitz ads Tap Right Forward sealer?
Similar design made by Central
I would assume this is a rear sealer
Anyone here use a vintage tap of these or some other style?
I have discovered that just becase a particular design has become the standard that doesn't mean it is a better design.
The defacto standard in bars is the chrome plated brass "Perlick Style" rear sealer.
Most everyone here prefers the forward sealing Perlicks in stainless steel.
In my opinion it is a superior design yet you rarely see it in bars.
I was curious if anyone had any experience with these older styles.
Were they horrible and you were glad to see them go or would you be using them today if you could still get parts?
