Okay so I brewed a 5 gallon batch of Kölsch a week ago, and put them into five 1 gallon carboys (I know... but it’s all I had) While I was checking their gravity I was tasting the left over wort my turkey baster couldn’t get to. All of them taste great.... except for one... this one I was only able to fill up half way.. so I filled the rest with RO water to minimize head space in the carboy. My OG was on the high side so I figured when I mixed them all together for bottling it would kinda even out. Well the wort from this carboy tastes like corn, and cabbage. DMS was my first thought... but that’s usually from improper boiling. Did the RO water contaminate my beer? Will it be okay after mixing with the rest of the batch, or should I just toss it? (I plan to lager then bottle condition after this)
