inspired by both the wheat porter and dry dock vanilla porter from NB, what do you think of this recipe for a vanilla wheat porter?
Vanilla Wheat Porter:
Mini Mash:
3lb marris otter
1lb chocolate wheat
1lb flaked wheat
.5lb english black malt
.5lb caramel 40
mash at 152-154 deg
sparge at 170 deg
Add 3lb bavarian wheat DME
Hops:
30 IBUs of Brewers gold 60 minutes
yeast: us-05
add 5 vanilla beans to secondary for 7 days
(sounds like a lot, but thats what the dry dock recipe uses!)
OG: 1.060
FG: 1.012
30 IBU
44 SRM
5 Gallons
How does this look? comments???
