I'm going to ferment some fresh pressed Apple cider and want to kill off any wild yeast. Is there any reason I shouldn't add the crushed tablets before the cider has warmed to room temperature?

Not in my experience. I add the campden to the carboy and add the cider to it regardless of the temp. Just crush the campden so it mixes well.
 
Thanks for replying! I'll pour directly from the refrigerator onto the crush tablets.
