Hey Everyone, 3 guys (including myself) are trying to get a Barleywine tasting together somewhere in NYC probably in the next month or 2. No set date yet, whatever works best for all those that would be interested in attending. Below are some of the beers the 3 of us have available for the tasting. We might have to eliminate some due to sheer quantity.

Goose Island: King Henry
Hill Farmstead: Aaron
Alpine: Great ('09 and '13)
Midnight Sun: Arctic Devil (2012)
Almanac: Heirloom Pumpkin Barleywine (2013)
Three Floyds: Behemoth (2011 and 2012)
Alaskan: Barleywine
Firestone Walker: Sucaba
Dry Dock: Bligh's Barleywine
J.W. Lee's Vintage Harvest Ale (Calvados I think)
GI: BCBW (2013 and 2014)
Multiple Gratitude vintages
The Perfect Storm '09
Mother of All Storms

Since we only have 3 people so far we are looking to add a number of other people interested in consuming great beer.

Some of the beers we are looking for someone to bring:

Voodoo: K13 (Top Wants)
Anchorage: A Deal with the Devil (Top Wants)
Kuhnhenn: BBW (Top Wants)
Cigar City: Leon
Steel Toe: Before the Dawn
Voodoo: Caution! Contains Pumpkins
Firestone Walker: Maltose Falcons Brownywine
Minneapolis Town Hall: Twisted Trade

Non-Barleywines interested in trying
Drie Fonteinen Schaarbeekse Kriek
Upland: Sour Reserve
Tired Hands: Parageusia1
deGarde: Apricot Bu
Logsdon: Peche n' Brett

If you are interested, please message me and we can start discussing possible dates, locations and beer.

Cheers to all

Sounds like a great tasting. I've done something similar with a local group a couple times in the past and it worked out really well. It's great to see what the standouts are. My recommendation would be to not worry about securring K13, in the tastings where we've had it, it doesn't hold a candel to the other BWs and often times tends to be the rated at the bottom of our tastings with people being disapointed about what they had to give up for it. That said A Deal with the Devil and Twisted Trace defenitly go after those, two of my favorite beers.

Have a great time, some awsome beers on that list.

Man..if only this were in the Philly area. Also, I believe the Town Hall brew you're looking for is the Twisted Trace. If you can find that...that was a brilliant goddamned beer.

Twisted Jim was also nice (although Twisted Trace was better).
