The guy at AirGas told me today that some homebrewers have expressed to him that Steal CO2 tanks have imparted undesirable flavor to their beers. I have used both steal and aluminum tanks and I have never noticed a difference. I went ahead and exchanged my tank for a steal one but now I'm wondering if it really does make a difference. Anyone else have experience with this?

I hav not noticed any difference. I hav heard there is a possibility of fluids getn sucked back into the tank creating some funk, bur that could happen with with either steel or aluminum. With that said its hard for me to think of a situation where a co2 tank would create a vacuum to suck up fluids besides some strange temp differances and of course extreme miss use.
