So I just cracked open the first bottle of my first ever AG batch. It was only bottled a week ago (after 3 weeks in primary) but I was itching to try one! It's a sweet stout brewed with American 2-row, chocolate malt, roasted barley, and some torrified wheat. Yeast was US-04. Im very happy with how it tastes, but the head is kinda, well, ugly. The edges are jagged and there's a bunch of bigger bubbles mixed in with the smaller ones. Retention is excellent...20 min into sipping this one its still got about a pencil-width of head remaining. Not a huge concern for me, but just curious what causes this and if there's anything I can do to encourage a "creamier" and more uniform head?
