So i'm on my second step of a two step starter needed for an upcoming Barley wine brew. 1st 2L step of the WLP-001 yeast was uneventful with a small krausen and subdued fermentation but the 2nd 4L step was an explosive fermentation with tons of lost yeast out the side of my 5L flask. I had to resort to spooning out quite a bit of krausen to avoid a huge mess on my stirplate but happened to capture a little into a sanitized jar, I don't have much yeast captured, just enough to cover the bottom of the jar, but my question is, can I use this yeast to make a new starter?
