Too much?

I bottled a pale ale today using 2.2oz of corn sugar for 1.88 gal. of beer, ( I totally over-estimated how much wort was in the carboy ). By my figurings, that should yield about 3.00 - 3.25 vol. of CO2. Do i need to worry about beer-splosions in my 12oz bottles?

Soda and sparkling wine are around 3 vol, if I remember right. I would think you'll be OK, but I have no experience myself with exploding bottles myself.

If you're worried about bottle-bombs, store the bottles in a bucket to contain the mess.

I would be very concerned. Northern brewer has a great sheet on bottling and they say the max vols of CO2 for 12 oz bottles is 3. http://www.northernbrewer.com/documentation/AdvancedBottleConditioning.pdf
