I have an order in for some Great Lakes Cascades this spring, does anyone have some tips on how to plant these? I have planted rhizomes before, but not crowns/field grade plants. Is there much difference in the procedure, such as hole or planting depth?

Thanks for the help.

Great to hear about the crowns. Just prep the soil like you would for rhizomes and plant the crowns so the bine top? is just above the top of the soil. They do not have to be in hills since the rhizomes grow horizontally. Should take off fast. Make sure the soil has the right amount of nutrients. If you do not have a test kit buy a cheap 10 test set from almost any nursery. PH is pretty important for the plants. Try to adjust the soil so it is around 6.0. Hope this helps.
