Sweet creamy root beer for kids.

Can anyone help??? I am looking for a good sweet cream root beer recipe to make with my boys. I have tried a couple that were either just sugary water with no flavor or smelled more like a hard root beer. I love making my own beer and root beer would be a great way to share that with my boys. I can do 1 gallon or 5 gallon batches. And I will be using flip top bottles not a keg. Thanks for any advice or good sweet cream root beer recipes.

How do you plan to carbonate without a keg?

Have you tried Brewer's Best root beer extract? I tasted it a while back and was pretty impressed. Don't know what I was expecting but it really surprised me. You could tweak the profile with additions of vanilla pods, sarsparilla and licorice root.
