So today while out mowing (I'm a lawncare professional, so I mow...a lot..and I have a LOT of time for my mind to run wild. Its amazing I dont drink more than I do) I mowed for the neighbor of a customer of mine. He had scaffolding and ladders up all around his house and I was uneasy going underneath any of them. This got me thinking: What if the origin of the superstition 'walking under a ladder is bad luck' is simply because, typically if there's a ladder up someone is on the top working and might just accidentally drop something on yer damn mellon? May also be the origin of the hardhat...
I also had a black cat jump out in front of my mower and scared the shi*t out of me but I have no explanation for this as of yet. Any others? I'd love to have something to mull over while I mow other peoples lawns knowing mine is getting out of control and only wanting to brew! cheers
