Straub is a old small regional brewery that's been around since the 1870's located in St Marys Pa that has brewed the same style of American lagers. While I was at my local beer distributer they were giving out samples of straub IPL a huge change from their normal offerings so I gave it a try. aroma was of citric and floral with a nice white head. the color was orange with some haze. The taste was a nice malt and biscuit backbone with a hop citrus grapefruit flavor. Overall a very nice inexpensive beer for the style.
I'm very happy to see a old brewery branching out of their comfort zone to attempt new styles. I am guessing they are doing this to survive in the new craft beer trend. If your in the Pa region and see this beer give it a try it is quit good.
