I built a stir plate using the instructions at http://seanterrill.com/2010/04/26/build-a-better-stirplate/
Great instructions... and for a while everything worked. I even managed to get a 24 hr yeast starter done on this stirplate. But suddenly the fan stopped spinning. When I take a multi-meter reading across the output capacitor (1 uF) - I get 12V DC output and the fan starts spinning. When I remove the multimeter leads - the fan stops. I suspect there could be a loose connection - but where?
Any ideas from the electronics experts here?
