All,

I wanted to briefly share my quote from Stout Tank & Kettles with regard to my 20 gallon MT, HLT, and BK. Please note below. I've done a bit of research and have requested a few custom options. Anything else that you recommend prior to hitting the PayPal icon? Thank you,

*** ADD TC THERMOMELL IN REAR 30 DEGREES FROM EL PORT. ***

HL20TW-RHC-SG-EL1-RF (367). 19.8 Gal. Hot Liquor Tank with Thermowell, RAISED HERMS COIL, Sight Glass, Port for Electric Element, Extra Recirculation Fitting (like mash tun), Clamps, Gaskets. Includes (1) 3/4in. valve, (1) 1in.NSP Adapter, (3) 1/2in. hose barbs, clamps, gaskets.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's an RF port?

I also have a custom order all ready waiting on me to push the PayPal button.

I believe it's the Recirculation Fitting. Did you request any custom options at all? Cheers!

Ah, makes sense. Only thing I added was a second RF port in the MLT, so 1 for recirc and 1 for sparge arm. Still procrastinating, not sure why.

I don't have any stout kettles, but I recall reading a few posts regarding the diameter of their HERMS coil in the HLT being somewhat restrictive. A few people have used the 1/2' coil from Zach at stainless brewing as a substitute. I'm not sure what is involved in using a different coil but I think it would be worth looking into before pulling the trigger.

They put a recirc port on the electric HLT. Think it's not necessary on a direct fire version? My last decision before placing my order.
