One thing i screwed up on when i first brewed was that i burnt some of the malt extract in the bottom of my pot.

How long should i stir the malt extract for so this does not happen again?

If you didn't...its a good idea to take the pot off of the burner while you add the extract. After that its a good idea to stir it for a minute and then stir occasionally throughout the boil.

yeah i should probably try that to avoid the burn. i am brewing tomorrow, so i will give it a shot. thanks for the feedback.

I stir mine frequently enough to keep a bit of a swirl going as it heats/boils. Works well to keep things from burning. Makes BK cleaning later far easier as well.

U could also switch to dry malt extract. It doesn't just sit on the bottom. Little more expensive, but worth it to me
