Arbor fab builds some great stuff. But Since I have some 1/2" x 1/8" 304 SS bar and some 300 micron (BIAB mash) and 75 micron, (Pellet hop) 304 SS fabric I must try to build some kettle filters. My viole and hop bags are showing their age; I have tools, time and generally enjoy DIY.
I figure MIG is out for joining and attaching the mesh. Soldering and Brazing maybe. Mechanical clamping seems more hobby scale to me. Anyone have experience working with SS mesh and joining it to itself or solid stock?
My plan right now is to form two 10" rings from the bar and space them with some ribs about 15" apart. I figure a large diameter hose clamp on top and bottom, around the rings and clamping the fabric id s good start. I'm just not sure if I will need another form of clamping down one of the ribs.
Stay tuned.
