Smelly buckets

I got 7 free buckets from a bakery, with lids. They had iceing in them and I am going to store grains in them. They have a nice airtight seal. Thanks Reelale for the suggestion.

Any suggestions on how to get the vanilla/artificial butter aroma out of them?

I'd try letting them soak with some hot water and oxy free

Bleach? It's worked for me.

Yup, a weapons grade charge of bleach, a good long soak, and a good rinse should do it.

My icing buckets came clean and aroma-free with just plain old Dawn dishwashing liquid, a sponge, and some hot water.....
