Hi,

I'm brewing a Belgian Pale Ale, OG 10.52. The liquid yeast pack was a few days past best-before day, had been kept in fridge the whole time. But it just didn't expand much in the package. I pitched it anyway and after a few days the fermentation has been slow. Definitely getting some foam and bubbles in air lock. Should I buy another package and pitch it (I'm currently on day 4 of fermentation) or will it all ferment if left alone, just at a slower rate?

Cheers,
Nathan

At this point I would just let it go; it can probably finish.

In the future I would recommend making a starter for all liquid yeast.

Welcome to HBT!

Thanks, it's been another few days and haven't seen much more activity, only about 1 bubble/min in air lock. I guess I'll leave it another week and check the gravity
