Hello,

Those are my Ingredients for stout beer.

3Kg pale malt extract
0.5Kg Mountons dark dry malt
1Kg pale ale pearl malt
0.5Kg Roasted barley
0.5Kg Black Malt 1000
70gr goldings hops

S-04 yeast

Batch Size (L): 25
Original Gravity: 1.051
Final Gravity: 1.021
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 1 weeks @ 65F
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 1 weeks @ 65F

Over all the beer came great and I enjoy it alot, but it's a bit too bitter.
What should I decrease, or add to have it slightly less bitter?.....

Many Thanks, Raz.

If you condition it for a year, it's bitterness will drop to 75% of current. Also you can retain 1/3 of your total hops and add them to the last 20 minutes as aroma hops. Have you used software to calculate your IBUs?

Hi,

That what I did with the hops.

About IBU...14.97....... it doesn't seem right........

Your roasted barley and black malt will both have bitterness that adds to the hop bitterness. Time in the bottle will mellow these harsh bitter flavors out. Let this stout have 3 or 4 months in the bottle and it will be better. 6 months will be better yet and a year or more will leave this stout so smooth....
