So, I came here looking for an answer to this issue. I didn't find one here but I did find it on reddit. It's probably nothing new, but to me its a total eureka moment. So, the problem with pulp is it clugs up your siphon and your lines right? And you don't want to pour through a strainer because that aerated your mead and can cause oxidation. So instead of pouring through the colander, push the colander into your mead and siphon from inside. It acts as a permeable structure that with keep the chunky stuff out.
Again, this is not my idea, I found it in reddit and thought I ought to share it here too. To me, this is a total game changer. I just need to figure out how to siphon off pulp from inside a bottle instead of a bucket lol
