as i was cleaning my gear in preparation for my first apfelwien(!), i noticed the bottom of my carboy bung was sort of chipped. should i just toss this or am i safe to continue to use it? i only ask because my LHBS is closed now and closed tomorrow. ive read before that if any of the plastic gear gets scratched or blemished to throw it away and replace. i wasn't sure if the same applied for the rubber bung. (i am super excited to make this apfelwien and don't want to wail til monday!)

i hope this makes sense.
thanks for the help.

I think it's fine for now, but I would replace it for the long term.

Hmm, I think the contact of the bung and wort is minimal. But bungs are cheap. I'd replace it. But I wouldn't let it stop me from brewing.
