I had a strong ale in the primary for a month. I racked to a secondary using the most careful sanitation processes I can muster. After three days in the secondary I have signs of fermentation again. I've never had a beer do this when going from pri to secondary carboys. Anyone else ever had this happen? There was still some sugar in there as I had a 1.022 reading, but that is about where I expected this thing to finish as well.

I'd say just keep it going until fermentation is done, then move on to your next step. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

transferring might have introduced oxygen, which could have allowed for yeast reproduction, which in turned kicked up a true second round of fermentation.

or, you could just be seeing off-gassing - CO2 is escaping.

+1 if you have kraeusen, it could be because oxygen was introduced. If just bubbling, could be off gassing, could be a temp change.

Thank you all for putting my mind at ease. Yes, there is a bit of krausen so I suppose the oxygen did kick things up again. Thanks again!
