Im using a swamp cooler keeping the water between 66 and 68 for ferm since its summer. When i rack to secondary do i need to worry about temp anymore or could i remove them from the swamp cooler to make room for new batches. I usually ferm primary for a week and secondary for 2 weeks.

Once the initial fast part of the ferment is over, the flavor is pretty much set so you don't need to control the temperature...at least not as much. I wouldn't set the fermenter in the attic where it will be 85 to over 100 degrees but upper 70's shouldn't hurt it at all.

I would still keep it cold, but it's not as pressing as with the primary. My secondary temp. is usually right around 72...maybe 74 if I get real lazy about adding ice :)
