Secondary Blend Query

Sorry to be a complete Noob, I am planning to add some additional flavours into secondary, lime and orange being the main two. I have steeped some ginger which i've included in primary, but if I get to secondary and it's not gingery or sweet enough, am I able to blend in some ginger beer, or will the fact that it's carbonated cause me problems?
 
You could grate some ginger root, soak it in vodka for a week or so then strain out the ginger and add the extract liquid into the secondary. If using ginger beer, maybe let it go flat first, then add. Whatever sugar is in it will ferment out, of course.
