RTD Cables

Can you use standard microphone cables for a RTD to PID connecting line?
If so are there any specific pros or cons?

If it has 3 conductors(+ shield ) it suits perfectly. But if it's 2 conductors + shield it stillcan be used but reading can be slightly off especially if you need long cord.

Sorry but I'm confused with about the "shield". I know that most are standard 3 pin plug which is why I was considering it.

This cord has four conductors and a shield (silver mesh around conductors.)

Mine are not shielded and I have no problem.
