I need to transfer RO water from a non-pressurized tank to my HLT. I can't gravity feed so I will need to pump it. I have a spare stainless Chugger pump and wondered if there were any reasons not to do this. I have read where RO water can be hard on certain substrates. Thanks

RO water is corrosive by nature (which really wants water to be loaded with minerals and dissolved gases) but shouldn't harm stainless steel. I start my brew days with 20-something gallons of RO water split between bk (strike) and hlt (sparge) and usually have to pump a bit from one to the other to get the volumes right. Neither the ss kettles nor the pump heads seem to mind...

Cheers!
