Ok made 10 gallon oatemeal stout last Tuesday og was 1.056.. split it to 2 5gallon caroboys.
1st carboy is going to be a bourbon oak oatmeal stout using oak chips soaked in Jack during the secondary. Did this one first and the fg was 1.020 beer smith says it should be 1.015 so about 5 point off.
need to decide if i should give the other 5 gallons another couple days to see if there is more fermation to go. as I plan to leave this one alone and move to secondary or just let it ride another week and go to bottle.
i was for the most part on the lower end of the temp range at about 63-64 on the temp reading on the stick thermometer. I moved the temp up to about 66 the last 2 days for the dicelthyl rest but read about 65 so not sure i really did much there.
