Hey All,
I have perused many different forumns for many different topics over the years and have noticed that some of the gardening forums have exchanges where you can exchange different varieties of plants. I think it would be an awesome way for us to exchange our precious hops. It sure would be an easy way to gain new strains.
Rhizomes are easy to collect in the spring of the year. You would need to collect them package and ship them soon after they appear in March in most temperate zones.
So I'll start this off...
I have a Heriloom Variety of Bittering hops to offer up. It's a nice starter hops for bittering. I do not know the variety. My guess is that it was planted during the prohibition days. It has a high Alpha Acid content and produces loads of good cones with lots of Lupulin. It's mold resistant and grows in northern climates. That's about all I can say about it.
I would be willing to trade rhizomes off of it for rhizomes off of any other varietys or pay a nominal fee for them. I am willing to ship a sample of the hops flowers from this years harvest to those interested.
Anyhow I figured we could try and keep this going and see what comes of it.
Cheers
Joe
