I recently got the Jaded King Cobra and I'm looking to do recirculated chilling with a pump and ice bath. I want to use 1/2" barbs for the tubing coming in and out of the Cobra. I've been to 2 homebrew stores and they don't seem to have a way to go from the garden hose connectors on the Cobra to a 1/2" barb attachment. They suggested I take the garden hose connectors off and replace them with new connectors. Does anyone have any idea if this is doable or ok to do? I really don't wanna screw up the wort chiller. I'm attaching a photo of the 1/2" barb replacement I'm looking to get attached. If anyone has any suggestions, or different part ideas, I'm all ears!

A quick search for images of the King Cobra seems to show that the brass garden hose connectors are screwed onto threaded copper fittings soldered onto the pipes. It may, repeat may, be possible to unscrew the brass fittings using two wrenches gripping the two hex nuts and holding the copper side still.
