My ratchet press is 2nd hand, but effectively brand new. Everything is clean, crisp, oiled, and looks to be in perfect order.
However, I tried pressing pulp (garbage disposal generated) and I can't get hardly any pressure on the cake. It's still plenty moist at the end. The press ratchets great under practically zero load and moved the blocks all over the place...and looks like it's bound after maybe 2-3" of downward travel. The floating ring in the middle with the holes will be making contact with one side and free on the other (if you've got this part at eye level, it's "crooked" relative to the press).
What the heck is this??
