I recently brewed my first ever batch. An APA.

The recipe called for an OG of 1.051-1.055. I accidentally put a little too much water in. About .5 gallons. So my OG was 1.047.

Today, I took a gravity reading as I plan to bottle this weekend. It's been 2.5 weeks. The recipe called for an FG of 1.012-1.015. My gravity today read 1.007.

Basically, I just want to know what kind of effect this will have on my beer. It seems to me that I'm right where I should be in terms of abv, so is my beer just going to feel a little thin? Or is there any other negative effects?

Thanks in advance! Love the forum!

Side-note: The sample tasted awesome! If it was carbonated It'd be perfect! :mug:

With the extra half gallon of water,it'll be a tad thinner. but not by much, since it's only 7-8 points off from the projected FG with the right amount of water.
