I've seen tons of builds using chalkboard paint. How well does it hold up against the inevitable beer spills and typical wear and tear?

So i have no experience with chalkboard paint and beer, BUT my girlfriend and I were JUSt looking at it as a backsplash for our kitchen. Doing the research, it will hold up to kitchen messes, water and such. therefore, I would say it should be pretty durable and survive beer spills!

I use it behind my taps. It's only been up for a couple of months but it has had beer spilled on it several times. I painted it with four coats over sanded plywood. It's holding up nicely.

No experience wth that paint specifically, but paint is only as good as the surface prep. 95% of the job is making sure the substrate is appropriate and ready to recieve the finish coating.
