Hey my fellow zymergysts...

I am gonna try an apple ale for the 1st time tomorrow. I have a question regaurding apple cider.
On the bottles it says u must refrigerate after opening a cider.
Im wondering if I should add this at the last 5 min.s of the boil, when i pitch my yeast, to secondary?
I want to incorporate the cider with the recipe, but not ruin 5 gal.s.
Any suggestions, tips, ideas are appreciated.

thanx,
Shawn

I would add it after the boil. However, if you're using cider, you're not going to get much apple flavor, because it will entirely ferment out.

Secondary might be best, but as has been said before, fermented cider has a very delicate flavor. I hope the beer portion is really down played.
